A Study of the Couple's Communication and Wife's Physical and Psychological Complaints


Abstract
The purpose of this study was carried out to provide the founded sourses of searching the care planing for the family unit with middle age women's health management, after finding out the physical-psychological complaints and the couple's
dysfunctional
communication patterns.
The period of collecting data was from March, 1992 to March, 1993.
4 division in Pusan and been except taking care and diagnosis in the clinics.
The meaurment scales were sued Song sung Ja's the scale of the dysfunctional communication patterns to the Korean couples, kim eun sim's the scale of the physical psychological complaints and the scale of problem factors and intensification
between
the
relation of couples of which the author has made(appendix).
Data analysis was done by spss program. It was done t-test in order to determine the communication patterns, the physical-psychological complaints and family problems.
@ES The results of this study were as follows:
@EN 1. It was significantly higher mean scores of the authoritarian, over-cautions, insincere, and sacrificing pattern in the dysfunctional communication group than in the functional communication group (P<.05)
And the over-cautions and sacrificing patterns were higher mean scores than the total mean scores.
2. Husband's patterns of the authoritarian, over-cautious, insincere and sacrificing which wives were percepted, were significantly higher mean scores in the dysfunctional group than the total mean scores.
3. In the comparision of the physical-psychological complaints between the dysfunctional group which wives were percepted, it was significantly higher mean scores tat items became getting scores in the sensorineural system, metabolic systme,
reproductive system, respiratory system, emotional change excepting the urinary system in the dysfunctional group(P<.05).
4. In the comparison of the family problems and intensification between the dysfunctional group and functional group, it was significantly higher mean scores of the family problems and intensification in the dysfunctional group(P<.05).
And the items of the spouse's occupation, economic level, drinking and children's education were hgher mean scores than the total mean scores in the dysfunctional group.
Through the above result it was shown that the dysfunctional communication of the couples was related among healthy problems, family problems and marital relationship problems.
